On behalf of the Jean Monnet Chair “Connecting Europe and Asia: People, Power and Policies” (CEAPPP) you are cordially invited to participate in the upcoming lecture on “EU-Asia Connectivity: Chaos, Competition or Cooperation?” organised by the Department of International Political Economy of East Asia, Faculty of East Asian Studies, Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
The lecture will be delivered by Ms. Shada Islam, Managing Director at New Horizons Project, Visiting Professor at the College of Europe (Natolin), and Senior Advisor to the European Policy Center.
In her lecture, Ms. Islam will focus on the particular strengths and limitations of the EU’s role in Asian connectivity and the resulting political and economic implications for the EU’s strategic positioning in the Indo-Pacific. Given an ever evolving global geopolitical environment and in view of the upcoming summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) on 25th and 26th November the relevancy of regional actors and interregional fora for EU-Asia connectivity will be critically addressed and the implications for policymaking discussed.
