Detailed rules for the evaluation of candidates for the Doctoral School of  Humanities at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin 

§ 1

 The recruitment procedure is competitive and consists of two stages, subject to § 2-4.

§ 2

1. In the case of scientific disciplines: philosophy, history, linguistics, literary studies, cultural and religion studies, archeology:

1) the first stage of the procedure includes the assessment of:

a) the concept of doctoral dissertation - up to 40 points;

b) documentation confirms the candidate's scientific achievements to date - up to 20 points;

2) the second stage of the procedure includes an interview. The candidate may obtain a maximum of 40 points.

2. In total, the candidate may get 100 points.

3. Candidates receiving at least 35 points from the first stage will be admitted to the interview.

4. Out of the candidates who obtained at least 25 points from the interview, a ranking list is created. The total number of points scored determines the place of the candidate on the ranking list.

5. In the case of scientific disciplines, linguistics, and literary studies , the interview may take place in whole or in part in a modern foreign language, the knowledge of which is declared by the candidate.

§ 3

1. In the case of the artistic discipline of fine art and art conservation:

1) the first stage of the procedure includes the assessment of:

a) the concept of the doctoral dissertation - up to 30 points;

b) documentation confirming the candidate's  artistic achievements* - up to 40 points;

2) the second stage of the procedure includes an interview during which the candidate may get a maximum of 30 points.

2. In total, the candidate may get 100 points.

3. Candidates receiving at least 40 points from the first stage will be admitted to the interview.

4. Out of the candidates who obtained at least 60 points, a ranking list is created. The total number of points scored determines the place of the candidate on the ranking list.

§ 4

1. In the case of the artistic discipline of music:

1) the first stage of the procedure includes the assessment of:

a) the concept of doctoral dissertation - up to 30 points;

b) documentation confirming the candidate's current artistic achievements** - up to 40 points;

 2) the second stage of the procedure includes an interview during which the candidate may obtain a maximum of 30 points.

2. In total, the candidate may get 100 points.

3. Candidates receiving at least 40 points from the first stage will be admitted to the interview.

4. Among the candidates who obtained at least 60 points, a ranking list is created. The total number of points scored determines the place of the candidate on the ranking list.

 

* Portfolio (in A4 printed and digital format) should contain:

1. photographic or film documentation (in the case of multimedia works, video recordings of performative actions, etc. in popular and easy-to-play recording formats) visual arts works:

a) artistic diploma (BA and / or MA);

b) work completed after the diploma;

2. list and photographic (and/or film) documentation of exhibitions and public presentations of the works

** A work of art of significant importance: 

1. audio / audiovisual recording with a duration of about 30 minutes; 

2. two scores for a significant performance cast; 

3. article with volumes between 20 and 40 thousand characters with spaces on topics other than the proposed doctoral dissertation.
