Day of Student Scientific Clubs of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology

Dear Students,

If you have your scientific passions or if you are looking for your place in our academic community, we cordially invite you to participate in the Day of Student Scientific Clubs of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. The first event of this type in the history of the Faculty will be held on December 2 (Thursday) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the ‘column hall’ (0129B) and in its immediate vicinity.

The event is targeted at presentation of the activity of SSCs at the Faculty of BiB, integration of the student community, and showing the possibilities and prospects for development, not only in the field of science.

The program will consist in:

  • presentation of the activities of Student Scientific Clubs in stands, posters, promotional films, and leaflets;
  • demonstrations of research workshops of the Clubs;
  • short lectures presenting the scientific activity of the Clubs;
  • quizzes with prizes;
  • diaporama show;
  • taking commemorative photos.

There are 7 Scientific Clubs at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology:

  1. Student Scientific Club of Biologists
    sections: ornithology, theriology, entomology, botany
  2. Student Scientific Club of Biochemists
  3. Student Scientific Club of Biotechnologists
  4. Student Scientific Club of Phytochemists
  5. Student Scientific Club of Microbiologists
  6. Student Scientific Club of Neurobiologists
  7. Student Club of Nature Photography

  • opportunity to develop your scientific passions, learn new research methods, and implement research projects;
  • opportunity to participate in workshops and scientific trainings;
  • opportunity to participate in scientific conferences with presentation of lectures and posters;
  • dissemination of science and promotion of the Faculty in numerous events organised at the Faculty (Biologists’ Night, Owl Night, Brain Week, International Fascination of Plants Day, UMCS Open Doors, etc.);
  • acquisition of soft skills required by future employers: teamwork skills, creativity, assertiveness, responsibility, organisational skills, and self-presentation skills;
  • making friends, interpersonal relationships, mutual support.

Dean's Hours will be announced for the duration of the event (from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.).
