The initiative aims at encouraging English language learning and promoting the culture of English-speaking countries. All those over 16 years old who wish to test their English language proficiency are welcome to participate. To ensure fair and equal competition, students and academic staff of English Studies, American Studies and Applied Linguistics study programmes, as well as English teachers cannot enter the contest.
