Applying for on-campus accommodation for students admitted for the first year of studies/multiple exchange programs in the 2023/2024 academic year

The procedure of applying for on-campus housing (so-called second turn of application) for the 2023/24 academic year starts on Monday, August 7, 2023, and lasts until Sunday, August 20, 2023 (including).

During the second turn of applying, the following groups of students can apply: students admitted for the first year of the first-cycle, second-cycle, and long-cycle studies, as well as students admitted for the first year of studies in the UMCS Doctoral Schools and students involved in any exchange mobility programs (including the Erasmus+ Program) in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Logging to the USOSweb for the first time (available on August 7, 2022 onwards): visit the following website: https://login.umcs.pl/ and click “Reset password”. On the next page, type in the e-mail address provided during the registration for a study programme. You will shortly receive an e-mail notification with your login and a link to set a new password (remember to check your SPAM-box and notifications folders).

Students applying for accommodation on the special basis (with special conditions), i.e. persons with disabilities, single parents, students’ couples, orphans and half-orphans, are obliged to attach a scan of the document confirming this circumstance (a certificate confirming one's disability, a copy of a child's birth certificate, a copy of a marriage certificate, a copy of a parent's death certificate).

Applicants with visual impairments, moving in a wheelchair or walking with crutches should indicate this fact on Page 9 in the USOSweb system. This will help the commission to allocate a place at a proper dormitory.

Important dates:

• August 7 – August 20, 2023 – submitting applications in the USOSweb system;
• August 21, 2023 onwards – the Dormitory Commission publishes the results of the second round of the on-campus accommodation applying in the USOSweb system;
• by August 28, 2023 – students should confirm the assigned places in the USOSweb system (more information in the announcement);
• by August 31, 2023 – students pay the deposit/booking fee (more information in the announcement).

Please get acquainted with the Rector’s Announcement of 24 July 2023 on the terms and conditions of confirming the assigned places in the UMCS Student Residences in the 2023/2024 academic year (the second round of application).

The procedure of applying for on-campus housing for the 2022/23 academic year starts on Thursday, June 1, 2023 and lasts until Friday, June 30, 2023.

Therefore, during the first round of application only the following groups of students can apply:

a) current students:

• I to IV-year students of long-cycle programmes,
• I, II-year bachelor’s degree students (3-year programmes),
• I, II and III-year engineer’s degree students (3,5-year programmes),
• I-year students of second-cycle (master’s degree) programmes,

b) current doctoral students as well as doctoral schools’ students:

• I, II – year students from doctoral schools,
• III, IV- year doctoral students.

The second round of applications is for newly accepted candidates for the I year of bachelor, master and doctoral degree students in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Applications for on-campus housing should be submitted ONLY via the USOSweb system.

It is not necessary to print out and submit a paper form of your application!

During the first round of application, students cannot apply for accommodation in the “Helios” Residence Hall. The possibility to apply for accommodation in “Helios” shall be provided in a separate announcement.

After July 2, 2023, the Commission for Dormitories will publish the results of the first round of applications for on-campus housing in the USOSweb system.

The choice of assigned places must be confirmed ONLY on the USOSweb platform by July 20, 2023, at the latest. Students are also required to pay the deposit/booking fee by July 26, 2023, at the latest (more information in the announcement).
