Scientific interests: Pleistocene periglacial morphological and lithogenesis of Poland SE and Ukraine NW; stratigraphy of Pleistocene sediments; correlation of Pleistocene divisions; geology of Polish and Ukrainian loess Palaeolithic sites; reconstruction of palaeogeographic and palaeogeomorphological conditions of prehistoric cultures in loess areas of meta- and Pericarpathian zone.
Research projects
Co-organizer of several Polish-Ukrainian conferences and co-editor of monograph volumes "Glacial and Periglacial" and Polish-Ukrainian field seminars "Stratigraphic correlation of loess and glacial deposits of Ukraine and Poland" (every 2 years).
Academic achievements: about 500 publications, including about 250 original ones. Current research issues include: palaeogeographical reconstruction of the Palaeolithic human environment on the basis of comprehensive loess studies of archaeological sites of Poland SE and part of Ukraine; recognition, determination of age and paleoenvironmental documentation of climate cycles on the basis of Poland SE and Ukraine loess repeater profiles, reconstruction of sedimentological processes and changes in the natural environment in the middle Pleistocene in the Pericarpathian zone with determination of the role of the glacial and periglacial environment in relief transformation.
