Major information

The Faculty of Economics was established at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in 1965. It was the fifth Faculty in the UMCS’s organizational structure. In 1969 it gained the right to lend the PhD degree. 9 years after the inception, the 100th employee was hired. In 1979 the Faculty gained its own building, where the lectures and workshops could take place.

Study at the UMCS Faculty of Economics are destined for people who are going to work as financial analyst, auditor, tax adviser, economist, business counselor, accountant, investment counselor, stockbroker, banker, finance manager, market analyst, marketing specialist, sales promotion specialist, public relations specialist, insurance agent, human resources manager, compensation manager and many more.
If you graduate, you will be well prepared to work in a small company, big corporation, banks, insurance companies, tax offices and other financial institutions as well as in public services, advertising agencies and consulting companies. Furthermore, you will be able to lead your own business activity.

1. Economics – first-cycle studies (3-year duration) and second-cycle studies (2year duration). There is a possibility to continue an education on doctoral studies.

2. Finance and Accounting - first-cycle studies (3-year duration) and second-cycle studies (2-year duration).

- second-cycle studies:

  • Audit and accountancy in management
  • Financial adviser
  • Stock investments
  • Financial Manager
  • Taxes and public finances.



3. Management - first-cycle studies (3-year duration) and second-cycle studies (2-year duration).

Specializations:

- first-cycle studies:

  • Advertisement and modern marketing communication
  • Business management
  • Human resource management

- second-cycle studies:

  • IT systems in business and administration
  • Strategic brand management
  • Societal capital management
  • Business and public institutions management

 

4. Logistics - first-cycle studies (3-year duration)

Specializations:

  • International logistics
  • Logistics enterprise management

 

5. Business management - first-cycle studies (3-year duration) - STUDIES IN ENGLISH

  • E-business
  • Human Resources Management
